We are beginning to support this beautiful and needed project in Argentina. It is a children’s day-care center on San Jorge neighborhood at the outskirts of Buenos Aires which is serving nearly 130 children who come in the afternoon to eat and drink something warm, to be in a loving environment and to work on creative art projects. They’re children who come from environments of extreme poverty, between 3-12 years of age, and whose families often lack sufficient financial means to even put food on the table at the end of the day. In addition, given the existing social structure, the adults in these children’s lives often lack the time to dedicate to their own children’s upbringing. It is an environment where the children have the opportunity to be with their friends in a creative setting and where the adults who are there collaborating give them all of their love and attention. At the beginning of the new year, we will be constructing outdoor sinks so the children can learn to brush their teeth at least once a day as well as wash their hands. See photos of the project
